Building Futures Together: Inspiring the Next Generation of Construction Talent

This month, our team continued strengthening our commitment to future skills and community engagement – all while highlighting the exciting opportunities within the construction sector and the growing field of industrial refurbishments!

Tim, Harry, and Billy from our Cannock HQ returned to Wolgarston High School to deliver an insightful presentation to Year 9 students. Their session introduced pupils to the wide range of careers available within construction, and the increasingly in-demand work surrounding industrial refurbishment projects. The visit followed last month’s mock interviews with Year 11 learners, reinforcing our partnership with the school and supporting students as they prepare for life beyond the classroom.

As part of the same initiative, we welcomed a group of Year 9 students to one of our live projects in Cannock. The visit gave them the unique opportunity to witness a construction site in action and understand how different roles contribute to bringing a project — whether a new build, commercial development, or complex industrial refurbishment — to life. Students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine enthusiasm for the processes behind modern construction!

Harry Phillips, the school’s Careers Co-ordinator, said: “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to INCO Contracts for their invaluable support throughout this year. Their involvement in our Enterprise Day made a significant impact, providing both inspiration and practical insight into the construction industry.

In addition, the site visit they facilitated early this month was an outstanding opportunity for our students to gain firsthand experience and deepen their understanding of the construction industry. The professionalism and generosity shown during the visit truly stood out.

A special word of appreciation goes to Tim, who has worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. His efforts made the experience not only informative but also engaging and memorable for all of our students.

We are grateful for the partnership and look forward to continuing this in the future.”

At Inco, we’re super passionate about showcasing the diverse and rewarding careers available across the industry. With the continued rise in demand for industrial refurbishments, sustainable upgrades, and modernisation of existing facilities, we believe it’s more important than ever to inspire young people and help them navigate the pathways that can lead them into these growing areas of expertise.

This month’s activities offered a fantastic opportunity to highlight these career routes and support students as they start considering their futures. We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to connect with more young people, strengthen our partnerships with local schools, and continue building futures together — one project, one experience, and one conversation at a time.
