From a one-man operation in 2010 to one of the UK’s fastest-growing principal contractors, we’ve spent our 15th anniversary year celebrating the journey that brought us here – and the major milestones we’ve achieved along the way. As the year draws to a close, we’re reflecting on what has been our most transformative period yet.
Following the 2020 management buyout led by David Cotterill and Sam Norton, our trajectory has accelerated rapidly. With our Head Office in Cannock and regional bases in Cardiff, Stevenage and Warrington, Inco is now delivering a broader range of complex projects than ever before – from school refurbishment programmes to nationwide commercial and industrial schemes. This expansion builds on the solid foundations established during our early years and reinforces our position as a trusted contractor for refurbishments across the Midlands, Wales and beyond.
This momentum has fuelled the creation of 21 new roles across the business. As part of our strategic growth, we opened a new Cardiff office led by Adam Bidhendy and launched our dedicated Education Division under Billy Sneddon, positioning Inco as one of the region’s go-to education contractors. We’ve also strengthened our marketing and administration teams to support increased project activity and rising demand for industrial refurbishment quotes and full refurbishment quote packages across multiple sectors.
This year, we surpassed £60m in revenue – our strongest financial performance to date – and we’re targeting even greater growth for 2025.
“The last five years have been a whirlwind,” says Managing Director David Cotterill. “We’ve opened new offices, expanded into new markets and strengthened our presence in the commercial and industrial sectors. Our reputation is built on delivering on time, on budget and to the highest standard – and that’s exactly what continues to generate repeat business and new opportunities.”
Using this model, we’ve successfully expanded into the North West, the South East and, most recently, Wales and the South West. Further office openings are expected over the next twelve months as we continue growing our Education Division and reinforcing our presence in specialist sectors including commercial refurbishments in Cardiff and wider industrial services.
Today, we work across the industrial, education, office fit-out and heritage sectors, delivering projects that reflect the scale, ambition and reliability of the modern Inco brand.
“Our culture is about creating positive impact in the communities where we operate,” adds Operations Director Sam Norton. “That goes far beyond bricks, mortar and cladding. Every member of our 50-plus team has a development plan, and through the Inco Foundation we’ve supported a wide range of charities over the past five years, raising more than £60,000.”
Recent initiatives include a DIY makeover at St Giles Hospice in Lichfield, fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and improvements to children’s play spaces at New Cross Hospital for The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity.
To mark our 15th year, we brought our teams, partners and suppliers together for a company-wide away day and two charity golf events supporting the Inco Foundation. Our anniversary celebrations will round off with a special awards evening in December – a fitting finale to a landmark year.
Fifteen years in, and Inco Contracts is only just getting started.
